EastEnders serial killer Gray Atkins is a set to meet his downfall.
The menacing solicitor, who is portrayed by Toby-Alexander Smith on the BBC One soap, will find himself at risk of being exposed as a serial killer in forthcoming scenes due to an explosion at the Argee Bhajee.
Knowing he buried Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White) beneath the restaurant, Gray is in for an anxious wait as a builder informs him the whole building will have to be stripped.
Gray knows it’s likely that Tina’s corpse will be discovered and his murderous ways could soon be exposed.
Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) is also hot on his tail.
With Whitney certain Gray is additionally responsible for the deaths of Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer), who he pushed onto an upturned knife and left to die, and Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami), who he pushed in front of a moving Tube train, she makes the bold decision to visit the police and tell them Gray murdered Chantelle.
So, it seems Gray’s time is almost up.
But what about his murder victims Tina, Chantelle and Kush? And, where are the actors who played them now?
Tina Carter – Luisa Bradshaw-White
Tina Carter was Gray’s second murder victim.
Having already murdered Chantelle, Gray killed Tina in December 2020 when she discovered he was responsible for his late wife’s death.
The death aired off-screen, initially leading to speculation that Tina could return to the BBC One soap, though her death was later confirmed.
Gray had initially gotten away with Tina’s murder, convincing the Carter family that she had run away after being suspected in the attack on Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) – but the explosion at the Argee Bhajee is set to see Tina’s corpse discovered.
She was portrayed by actress Luisa Bradshaw-White.
Since leaving EastEnders, Luisa has enjoyed a respite from acting.
The 47-year-old actress has appeared on ITV reality show All Star Musicals since but speaking in October last year, revealed she was taking a break from acting.
In wake of her grisly departure from Albert Square, Luisa now hosts Ecstatic dance classes in the small village of Chorleywood in Hertfordshire.
Of the classes, she told Herts Live: “Everybody drinks the cacao [tree that produces cocoa beans] so there’s a little bit of a ceremony and then people just start dancing and I DJ the music to start really, really chilled and then the beat picks up and the cacao really opens your heart.
“The cacao and the music together is such an awesome combination.”
Chantelle Atkins – Jessica Plummer
Chantelle Atkins was Gray’s first murder victim.
Her death came at the climax of a heartbreaking domestic abuse storyline, which saw Chantelle endure Gray’s verbal and physical assaults until he pushed her onto an upturned knife in a shocking fatal scene.
With Whitney set to expose her murder to the police, it looks like Chantelle will finally receive the justice she deserves.
But, what is Chantelle actress Jessica Plummer up to now?
Since leaving EastEnders in September 2020, Jessica has enjoyed a flourishing career.
Months after her onscreen exit, the 29-year-old actress appeared in the 2020 series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Jessica recently appeared alongside Gugu Mbatha Raw and David Oyelowo in the TV adaptation of The Girl Before.
She also starred in the BBC and HBO series alongside former EastEnders star Ben Hardy, with the pair confirming their romance in December.
Jessica will soon appear alongside Gary Beadle in the forthcoming TV series Auditions.
Kush Kazemi – Davood Ghadami
Kush Kazemi remains Gray Atkins’ most recent – and hopefully final – murder victim.
The character, portrayed by Davood Ghadami, met his end when he attempted to flee Walford with his girlfriend Whitney.
While Whitney was in the toilet with Arthur, Gray approached Kush and, in devastating scenes, pushed him onto the train tracks after his own obsession with Whitney spiralled out of control.
So, where is Davood Ghadami now?
Following his EastEnders exit, Davood immediately landed a follow-up gig.
The 39-year-old actor returned to BBC medical soap Holby City where he had previously worked though this time, he returned as a new character, Eli Ebrahimi.
Holby City has since been cancelled by the BBC with its final episode to air next month.
In November, the actor tested positive for coronavirus but has since made a full recovery.
EastEnders airs on BBC One.
