EastEnders fans are convinced Lola Pearce will be murdered in upcoming scenes.
It was reported earlier this week that Danielle Harold will be killed off in a huge storyline for the BBC One soap.
A source told The Sun that the actress was left “teary” after being told the news about her departure.
They said: “She was not expecting the chop because her character has been a firm favourite with viewers.
“She’ll be written out with no option to return.
“Danielle was teary but was told a number of the cast were being shown the door.”
Viewers have since turned their focus on how Lola will meet her grisly end.
Some are wondering if her death will have something to do with a dating app the character has recently downloaded.
Following the news former partner Isaac Baptiste (Stevie Basaula) has got himself a new girlfriend, Lola decided to step back into the world of online dating.
Soap fans are now convinced that the serial drama may tackle an online safety storyline, as Lola could land herself into danger by meeting up with a stranger.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: “Ngl them setting up Lola’s dating profile makes me think that she’s gonna go on a date and get murdered by her date.”
Another added: “Given that Lola is being killed off – and she’s currently messing around on dating apps, I’d say its a fair bet that she ends up killed off by someone from the app.”
While a third person posted: “Are they building to an online safety storyline with Lola getting murdered similar to India and Silas in #Hollyoaks?”
A fourth social media user asked: “Is Lola gonna get killed by someone off of Tinder?”
Some viewers are growing suspicious of the temporary mechanic, who worked at The Arches this week to help Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Deol) and Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) out with an overwhelming amount of work.
One fan said: “I have a feeling that mechanic will be part of Lolas exit. They’re showing a lot of Lola doing an online dating profile.
“We’ve seen the mechanic is over friendly , seems misogynistic and mentions he likes petite blondes. I’m almost certain Lola will be killed by him.”
Daily Star has reached out to Danielle’s rep and EastEnders for a comment.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday on BBC One at 7.30pm
