Emmerdale fans were not happy when they went to tune in to Friday night’s instalment of the ITV soap.
The long-running soap has been involved in major scheduling shake-ups following the death of Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday September 8.
And while it looked as though the standard hour-length episode would be shown, ITV News continued broadcasting until 8:30pm with extensive coverage live from Westminster as members of the public viewed the Queen’s lying-in-state.

Despite the channel regularly changing their content to pay tribute to the beloved late monarch in the past week, it didn’t sit well with loyal fans of the soap.
One fumed: “So now it’s only 1 episode instead of the 2 it said earlier. Come on ITV u have shown it. You also have 3 THREE other channels.
“I’m sick of you messing up the schedule yet again at the last minute. Emmerdale supposed to start 8pm but you’ve abandoned it at last minute to show what we’ve seen a hundred times and it’s on other channels anyway. We are getting very fed up,” raged a second.
A third penned: “F****** furios that Emmerdale is not only delayed but the double we were promised is now only one!!!!!!”
“Emmerdale is supposed to be on from 8 to 9pm but guess what ITV have messed around with the schedule again at the last minute to show us what we’ve already seen a hundred times,” added another unhappy Twitter user.
While a fifth echoed: “I started my dinner to have it with #Emmerdale and it’s been pushed back again and only 1 episode, news has been on since 6pm!”
ITV news coverage was live from Westminster as thousands of mourning members of the public queued to see the Queen’s coffin.
Many famous faces have attended to show their respect, including This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as well as former professional footballer David Beckham.
