Elsewhere, Jai Sharma and Laurel Thomas decide to reconnect and take things slow.
Charity baby loss horror
Mackenzie is starting to settle into his new attentive role and is evidently touched by Moira’s words about him being a great father.
But unbeknownst to him, at Jacobs Fold, Charity is suddenly hit with a wave of abdominal pain and she instantly worries that something is wrong with the baby.
Not long after, Mackenzie enters to find a broken Charity in agony on the floor. In a fit of panic, Mackenzie scoops her into his arms, but Charity is already crushed as she thinks it may already be too late.
As Mackenzie continues to show his optimism, Charity is clearly gutted by his stance as they arrive at the hospital.
While speaking to the Doctor the pair try to hide their fear from each other as a Doctor rushes them to the Early Pregnancy Unit with immediate effect.
Anxious with what’s to come, Mackenzie and Charity are left awaiting results, as the Radiographer heads off to find a Doctor.
Later on, the doctor confirms that Charity’s pregnancy is ectopic, and therefore it is not viable.
Hearing the unexpected news, Mackenzie is clearly blown away and heartbroken as he and Charity hear the heartbeat of the baby that they are destined to lose.
Shell-shocked, Mackenzie and Charity are left alone to process everything. Emotionally drained by the heart-breaking ordeal, Charity psyches herself up for what she must do going forward.
As the pair speak, Charity is grateful for Mackenzie’s support, but it’s evident that Mackenzie isn’t as okay as he’s making out to be as he’s gutted to be losing his child.
Charity soon makes it clear that she is dealing with the loss of her pregnancy by moving on with normal life. But will Mackenzie be able to do the same?
‘Meena’ returns
Naomi’s stance is unreadable after Ethan opens up to her and asks for a second chance for their dad Charles.
Later at the Church, Charles is relieved when Naomi arrives and agrees to talk things through with him.
However, as Manpreet approaches the village church she hears an argument as she heads towards the building. She’s soon left stunned when she witnesses an upset and angry Naomi burst through the doors and walks away.
When Manpreet enters the church she is horrified to find Charles lying unconscious.
Shortly after, noticing an ambulance heading towards the church, Naomi quickly rushes over. while Harriet watches with concern as Manpreet tends to an unconscious Charles.
Shaken and confused by what has happened, Naomi wants to know if Charles is OK, but Manpreet shouts at her to get out and leave them alone.
Arriving at the scene, Ethan doesn’t know what to make of the situation when Harriet arrests Naomi on suspicion of assaulting Charles.
Later on at the Hospital, Manpreet and Ethan receive an update on Charles’ condition but Ethan is left feeling shocked when Manpreet compares Naomi’s actions to that of her sister Meena who is currently behind bars for murder.
Sweet reunion
Although the pair have had a rather turbulent relationship so far this year, things could finally be turning around for Jai and Laurel.
And with Laurel’s connection with new lad Kit, it looked as though Jai was firmly out of the picture.
But next week, Jai and Laurel unexpectedly reconnect and agree to take things further. They are also excited to tell the kids their news.
Will the children be as excited as they are?
