Tony Audenshaw has been playing his Emmerdale role Bob Hope for over 20 years but fans may be shocked by his side hustle away from the ITV soap.
Not only does the Lancashire-born star act in the popular soap, but his side hustle is worlds away from the Dales drama.
While away from acting Tony actual fronts a bands called White Van Man who tour and play several gigs.
The band have been performing together for over a decade and have even appeared in an episode of Emmerdale.
In 2010, White Van Man teamed up with acclaimed operatic singer Sean Ruane for an unofficial England football song.
They called the song Viva Englandia, which was created to try and inspire the side at that year’s World Cup.
The side were knocked out in the early stages but the unofficial football song can hardly be blamed for that.
On the band’s official Facebook page, their intro reads: “How do? Come and see us live, we play pubs round Stockport and The High Peak and unusual events that.”
The band have performed at events like Harrogate Beer Festival, and now life is going back to normal following the coronavirus pandemic the band are hoping to get back onstage.
In 2012, Tony spoke about a live episode of Emmerdale and revealed that his band once appeared on the popular ITV soap.
He said prior to filming the episode: “All I can say is I have really enjoyed my 12 years on the show and these last few weeks have been the most special.
“Apart from meeting Tony Christie and that time Bob flew in an aeronautical display and got married to Viv with my band White Van Man playing in The Woolpack.”
In Emmerdale, Bob actually ended up marrying Viv twice, once in 2001 and then again five years later in 2006.
