GMB’s Laura Tobin shares Richard Madeley’s secret cheeky swipe at her legs off-screen

Laura Tobin has confessed her pale legs regularly shock Richard Madeley as the brunette beauty gets camera ready for Good Morning Britain each morning.

The 40-year-old meteorologist spilled the beans on what it is like to work alongside the slew of broadcast journalists on the popular ITV morning show.

And while she likes to think she is one of the quickest presenters in and out of the hair and makeup chair, her fellow co-stars have argued differently as she dished the dirt on what it’s like getting ready to go live each morning.

In an exclusive interview with the Daily Star, Laura confessed that as much as she wishes it was someone else, she is usually the presenter who takes the longest to get ready on account of her pale skin.

She revealed: “I can be quick if I’m running late [but] Charlotte would probably argue that I take the longest.

“But that’s only because I’m really pale and Debbie in wardrobe is always like, ‘Oh look at those legs, they’re so pale! Quickly put some tights on.’

“And I’m like, ‘I don’t like wearing tights, I hate tights’. So, I’ll have my hair and makeup done like normal and then I’ve still got to get somebody to fake tan my legs.

“And yes, I guess I could do it myself, but while I’m sitting in the hair and makeup chair, someone always fake tans them for me or puts tinted moisturiser on.”

And her pasty skin went on to shock her fellow co-stars when she rushed on screen last week as she recalled how the 65-year-old presenter was surprised to see how pale her legs are.

She went on: “The other day Richard Madeley walked out and asked, ‘What’s going on here?’ and I was like, ‘My legs are really pale Richard.’

“And he said, ‘Really? They don’t look that pale’ and I said, ‘That’s because they’ve got lots of tan on them’.

“Then the next day, he was like ‘Yeah, they are pale’ so probably the extra tinted moisturising means it’s arguably me but I probably shouldn’t say myself.”

A close second slowest to get ready behind Laura is Charlotte Hawkins

Looking back on the embarrassing moment, the mum-of-one revealed the top spot for the longest time in the makeup chair is a close call between herself and Charlotte Hawkins.

She explained: “She [Charlotte] turns up the most beautiful and she genuinely looks like she needs the least work” yet the star somehow manages to spend a lot of the morning being touched up.

She went on to brand Susanna Reid “speedy gonzales” out of the group with Kate Garraway hot on her heels for second place.
