GMB’s Susanna Reid ditches ITV studio for Number 10 in Prime Minister shake-up

Good Morning Britain aired a major format change when Susanna Reid left the studio – to present the programme live from Number 10 Downing Street.

During Friday’s visit to the ITV studios, Kate Garraway and Adil Ray welcomed viewers back to the studio as they discussed the biggest headlines in the news this morning.

One of the biggest stories on everybody’s lips was the Liz Truss’ decision to step down as Prime Minister on Thursday (October 21).

In order to cover the historic moment, Susanna made an exception to come in to work on her day off where she reported live outside the political office.

Susanna normally presents the flagship ITV show from Monday to Wednesday – where she can be seen sitting in the ITV studios alongside her co-host Richard Madeley.

But following the record-breaking news that the Conservative politician was stepping down as Prime Minister after 44 days in office, making her the shortest-serving Prime Minister in UK history.

The mum-of-three was excited to welcome viewers to front of the outside of the Prime Minister’s iconic front door as she kicked off the show.

Taking to Instagram, the brunette beauty shared a sweet selfie of herself and the famous local cat Larry moments before she was due to go live on air.

“Morning! History in the making – our country’s shortest-serving Prime Minister is out & the race for No 10 is back on. @gmb #LarryLastedLonger.”

Her loyal legion of fans soon pipped the broadcaster as the new Prime Minister as they flooded her with compliments in her comments section.
