Judge Robert Rinder opened up on his recent heartbreak on ITV’s Good Morning Britain as he talked candidly on the loss of his dog.
Presenting the morning show alongside Susanna Reid, Rob was close to tears as he gave details on his dog Rocco’s death.
While promoting Good Morning Britain’s 1 Million A Minute campaign, the 44 year old said his pooch gave him “gave me absolute loyalty and unconditional love” and he “loved him very very much”.

Kick starting the conversation, Susanna said: “A moment of loneliness that come up on you unexpectedly and I know you’ve been very touched by our 1 Million A minute campaign, you lost your lovely dog Rocco.”
Robert replied: “I did and he was a friend of yours. Like all dogs can see the soul of somebody even when they may express their undivided indifference to them.”
Though Sunsanna highlighted that she is more of a cat person, she could sympathise with the TV judge’s loss.
He later added: “Like lots of people I wasn’t necessarily a dog person and then this beautiful snoring creature came into my life and gave me nothing but loyalty and unconditional love.”
After his emotional display, fans headed straight to Twitter to share their thoughts.
One GMB viewer penned: “Sorry to hear of your lost @RobbieRinder. Your words are spot on. We lost our loving dog Scamp just over two weeks ago.”
Another said: “Morning sorry to hear about your poor dog we’ve lost 3 dogs over the years all been rescue dogs and all them there own little character sadly missed but never forgotten still got the teeth marks on the door frames.”
Meanwhile a third chimed: “Sending lots of love. My Briar left me in 2019. She gave me 14 years of unconditional love. Broken hearted is an understatement ..The love you gave your little man meant the world to him. In the words of our beautiful queen, grief is the price we pay for love.”
Last week, Rob took to his Instagram to share the loss of his dog.
Alongside a series of photos he wrote: “My Rocco died suddenly yesterday. He blessed me with a lifetime of loyalty & limitless joy.
“I don’t speak about my private world normally. But wanted to share my profound sadness with anybody who has ever loved a dog. It is the deepest gift of unconditional love imaginable.”
