Harry Potter legend Richard Harris, who portrayed Albus Dumbledore in the hit franchise, was once found “face down in a pile of cocaine” by his young son.
The sons of the beloved Irish actor, who portrayed the headmaster of Hogwarts, have spoken out about their father in a new documentary.
Richard’s three sons Damian, Jared and Jamie have recalled how their late father, who died in 2002, would take large amounts of cocaine in front of them.

They have also revealed that to two years before his death, when he was just 70, he got into a bar fight.
When a young and up and coming actor, the Harry Potter legend is said to have been a “heavy drinker” with a “quick temper”.
Richard’s youngest son Jamie, who is 59 years of age, speaks on the documentary and recalls finding his father taking cocaine.
In the tell-all documentary Jamie – who has followed in his dad’s footsteps and works within the film industry – speaks about growing up in the 70s and having Richard as a father.
Recalling the cocaine-fuelled moment he witnessed is dad having as a youngster, Jamie says in the documentary: “I walked into his [Richard’s] bedroom and it was like a scene from Scarface.
“He’d dropped this pound of cocaine on the carpet and it had burst open and his face was just in the middle of it.”
Jamie then admitted that his father was “unpredictable”.
The documentary is a Sky Arts film entitled The Ghost Of Richard Harris, which will hit screens tomorrow (November 18).
The Dumbledore legend was sadly diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease in August 2002, reportedly after being hospitalised with pneumonia.
He died two months later in London, aged 72, after spending his final three days in a coma.
After his death, Richard’s body was cremated and his ashes scattered in the Bahamas, where he owned a home.
