Harry Styles kicked off his new album and tour by apologising to his mum while live on stage performing to his fans. He performed for fans at the O2 Academy in Brixton on Tuesday (24 May).
He bashfully said “I’m sorry” after admitting that singing about drugs and breasts would be the last thing he would do in front of his mum.
The 28-year-old worldwide star kicked off his first tour in more than two years with the hilarious moment. He very recently dropped his brand-new album Harry’s House which is clearly already a massive success with his fans with the entire audience singing along word for word.
Once Harry moved on to his new song on the album Keep Driving, it suddenly dawned on him that his mum was in fact in the audience.
He was certainly feeling a little bit awkward about singing his racy lyrics in front of his mum: “cocaine, side boob, choke her with a sea view.”
Once he finished the song, he shouted to fans: “I’m sorry! I never thought I’d say ‘cocaine’ and ‘side boob’ with my mother in the audience!”
However, the show must go on, even if his 54-year-old mother Anne Twist is in the audience.
Harry’s highly anticipated new album is thought to be a number one hit in the UK and US, he has received some glowing reviews after being released last week on Friday 20 May.
Breaking records with this new smash hit, he broke the record for the biggest vinyl sales week in just three days in America, for the first time since 1991.
This is currently the fastest selling album of 2022, and Amazon Music announced that this new masterpiece has been the most streamed album on its first day of release, ever by any male artist.
Harry made sure Ukrainian flags were present on stage as he stood in solidarity with the war torn nation, and he also had Pride flags on stage too.
The rocking performance was wild, with Harry having to grind things to a stiff halt twice after catching wind that a couple audience members were getting overheated.
Nodding to his beginnings with his old band mates, Harry sung One Direction’s What Makes You Beautiful, and treated fans to his 2019 summer anthem Watermelon Sugar.
