Helen Skelton’s ex-husband Richie Myler has made the decision to private his social media account after being hounded with “abusive” messages following their split earlier this year.
Back in April, the current Strictly Come Dancing star and the Leeds Rhinos rugby player announced they had ended their eight-year marriage.
The news came just four months after the 39-year-old gave birth to their first daughter Elsie on December 28. They also share two young sons together, seven-year-old Ernie and five-year-old Louis.

Since their separation, Richie has struck up a new relationship with his girlfriend Stephanie Thirkill who is currently pregnant with their first child together.

The former Blue Peter star has reportedly left their family home in Leeds and moved in with her parents on their farm in the Late District.
Following the confirmation of Richie’s new relationship with the daughter of the President of his famous rugby club, the sportsman was met with a barrage of negative comments on social media.
Taking to Instagram, the dad-of-three has spoken out about his decision to private his social media accounts following the slew of hateful messages he has been receiving online.

On his Instagram Story, he explained that he will be keeping his personal life private as he removes his followers “one by one”.
He penned: “I’ve decided to put my profile private from now on. If you are on here to share my photos or stories of me and my life maliciously to other people or waste your time sending me abusive messages, please just unfollow me.
“I’m going to start removing people from my account one by one, so if you are a genuine rugby fan and I accidentally remove you, I apologise in advance and will accept you back! Thank you, Richie.”

It comes after he was spotted cuddling his pregnant girlfriend following the Ireland vs Lebanon Rugby game in Lancashire.
The couple were pictured sharing a sweet moment together outside Leigh Stadium after Richie’s game.
