Taking to Twitter, one fumed: “Am so disgusted with Holly and Phil, after being with my daughter tonight and seeing the queue, so many older people with walking sticks, clearly struggling, children and parents, all uncomplaining queueing for 22 Hours and they get a priority ticket, shame on you.”

“NOT a fan of Phil and Holly skipping the queue to see the Queen lying-in-state. They should have queued with everyone else,” penned a second.

While other social media users compared the duo to David Beckham who reportedly queued for over 12 hours to pay his respects.

“Holly and Phil treating this like an attraction and queue jumping as if they’re at Alton Towers. You would think they would humble themselves for this one occasion, David Beckham queued for 13 hours so why couldn’t they?,” raged one.

“David Beckham in the queue for over 10 hours paying his respects to The Queen while Holly and Phil saunter in, skipping the line,” wrote a second.

While someone else fumed: “so david beckham queued for 12 hours with the general public and holly & phil skip the queue for the fast track vip line. Beckham could have easily done that, it just shows…”
