Katie McGlynn has confirmed she’s left Hollyoaks for good.

The actress joined the Channel 4 soap as Becky Quentin last year and her final scenes aired during Tuesday’s first-look episode.

Becky has antagonised many residents with her conspiracy theories over the past seven months.

However, her latest act proved to be the final straw and and she left the village on her own.

Taking to social media to confirm her exit, Katie penned to her Instagram followers: “Becky Quentin, over and out! @HollyoaksOfficial.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure playing Becky and getting my teeth into something so different and gritty!

“As an actor, to be able to portray someone that has so much likeness to extremely current global issues from conspiracy theories to anti-vaxxers, corona virus and sinophobia… I really hope the storyline has helped raise some important issues and helps people see how easy it is for someone to be sucked into this whole world of fake news and conspiracy!”

Katie added: “Thank you to the entire cast and crew for being so unbelievably amazing and welcoming me with open arms! I will miss you all, but other exciting opportunities beckon.”

Unsurprisingly, fans of the former Coronation Street star were left gutted at the news.

One fan penned: “I’m so proud of you !!!You played Becky so well and can’t wait to see what you next ,you’re amazing.”

Another added: “Gonna miss you.”

A third person posted: “You played her so well!”

Becky acquired dangerous ‘medication’ earlier this week, which she claimed would “cure” Luke Morgan (Gary Lucy), who is battling FTD.

Her boyfriend Ollie (Gabriel Clark) convinced that Becky wouldn’t do anything to harm his dad and tried to talk Luke into taking the concoction.

When Luke refused, Ollie took it himself in a bid to demonstrate that it wasn’t dangerous.

However things took a turn for the worst and the teen was left writhing in agony.

Becky claimed that he only took a reaction to the concoction because it wasn’t meant for him, but Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) pleaded with Ollie to see sense.

After giving it some thought, Ollie realised that Becky was a huge danger, and therefore he feared for her son Henry’s life.

He reported her to social services leaving Becky heartbroken.

She was willing to forgive Ollie but didn’t want to reunite with her and told her that he doesn’t believe in her conspiracy theories.

A devastated Becky wasn’t prepared to listen to him any longer fans saw her take one final look around the village before she exited the village.

Hollyoak airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 6.30pm followed by first look episodes on E4 at 7pm
