Charley Webb, known for playing Debbie Dingle in Emmerdale, was a stalwart of the soap for almost 20 years, one of the show’s longest-running characters.
Despite her turbulent beginnings on-screen – including being born to a 13-year-old teen mum – she flourished in the village and developed a relationship with her dad Cain, who was Charity’s 14-year-old cousin.
Charley, 34, went on maternity leave three times while on the show and eventually left for good in 2021.
She didn’t want to make a huge fuss out of her departure, saying: “This is always my most asked question but I’ve never answered it before because I’ve never wanted to make a big deal of it.”
She has still kept in touch with her “work family” though and enjoys nights out with them – in particular with Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle, her fictional dad.
In March she shared a fun Instagram picture of her with some of her old colleagues, including Jeff, 52. It was captioned: “I will forever love my old work family.
“My heart feels so full and grateful they came into my life all those years ago. They will last a lifetime.”
She’s so close to Jeff in fact, Charley even pilfers vegetables from his allotment.
She revealed via a recent snap of a homecooked roast dinner that the sides were “courtesy of Jeff and Zoe Henry’s allotment”.
Furthermore, Jeff was an impromptu “bridesman” at her surprise wedding to Emmerdale co-star Matthew Wolfenden.
Guests were led to believe they were attending the star’s 30th birthday – but in fact, it was her nuptials.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, Charley said: “I couldn’t not have Jeff as part of my day as he’s my best male friend, so I wanted him to be my bridesman.”
The pair invited 100 guests to Ripley Castle in Harrogate, Yorkshire for the surprise bash and Charley’s actor brother Jamie Lomas gave her away.
Charley is mum to Buster, 12, Bowie, six and Ace, two.
