James Bond star Pierce Brosnan had undergone a drastic movie transformation as he takes on the role of King Louis XIV in his upcoming action-adventure film The King’s Daughter.
The Irish star, who is known to rock sleek grey hair and tailored suits, can be seen wearing 17th-Century French royal fashion and donning shoulder length brown hair in new stills released from the flick.
The 68-year-old looked regal wearing an ocean-blue jacket with a 17th-century white frilled shirt, along with a pendant hanging from his neck.
A far cry from the tuxedos of 007 or Greek-Island-Chic of Mamma Mia. fans were left doing a double-take as he ditched his classic grey quiff and beard for the flowing locks of King Louis.

Based on the 1997 novel The Moon and the Sun by author Vonda N. McIntyre, the film will see Pierce star as a cruel and powerful king obsessed with the idea of immortality.
King Louis XIV’s quest for immortality leads him to capture a mermaid’s life force, but his immovable will is challenged when his long-hidden illegitimate daughter forms a bond with the magical creature.
The film boasts an impressive cast, with former teen icon Kaya Scodelario of Skins fame playing the king’s rebel daughter, Marie-Josephe.
The film also stars Benjamin Walker, Rachel Griffiths and features William Hurt. It is narrated by Julie Andrews and directed by Sean McNamara.

While The King’s Daughter is set to release this month, production on the film began way back in 2013, with the cast shooting on location in Versailles, France, and Melbourne, Australia.
It will be released in cinemas nationwide on January 21.
Just before Christmas, Pierce also wrapped filming on “The Out-Laws,” which will air on Netflix later this year.
Brosnan is gearing up for a busy 2022 as he becomes the face of Mexican tequila brand Casa Don Ramon.
Pierce posted some Instagram photos of himself enjoying a the drink over the holidays.

Pierce and his wife Keely Shaye Smith were recently snapped enjoyed a bike ride in Malibu, California over the Christmas period.
The couple, who are parents to sons Dylan, 24, and Paris, 20, celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary last year.
Brosnan opened up to People in 2017 about the beautiful relationship he has with his second wife, after tragically losing his first wife to cancer.
“My wife and I took a short road trip up to Santa Barbara – we were going for a romantic weekend. We just listened to the sounds of each other’s voices and sorted out the world.”
