Kate Garraway has been spending quality time with her dad after a “tough week” for husband Derek Draper.
The Good Morning Britain host shared the update with her followers on Instagram after a fun day out buying garden supplies with her father.
Posing in the boot of a Peugeot 3008 Kate grinned at her dad from amongst the foliage as she handed him a selection of their purchases.
The popular presenter looked gorgeous in her casual attire – including a black sweatshirt with yellow smiley faces adorning it.
Kate admitted using food to bribe her 87-year-old father to help her out – naming her homemade apple crumble as a great bargaining tool.

She wrote: “Everyone sings for their supper in my house! Thanks to my Dad’s wonderful energy at 87 ( I get my gardening passion from him) & a surprisingly capacious Peugeot 3008 boot!
“We are cracking on with some spring planting today. It’s amazing what he’ll do for one of my apple crumbles!?!!”
Earlier this week Kate stepped out to the theatre with daughter Darcey to mark her birthday as she admitted it had been a rough week for the family amid husband Derek Draper’s health woes.

Kate shared a touching snap of her and her teenage daughter smiling at the camera as they sat down to enjoy a performance of Dirty Dancing for Darcey’s 16th Birthday.
She captioned the image: “Well what a way to celebrate your 16th birthday Eve! @ddongstage is the best fun & we are both in love with Johnny. And yes Darcey has already told me no one puts her in a corner! Just what the doctor ordered after a tough week.”
Kate has been regularly sharing updates on Derek’s health with her fans and GMB viewers since he fell ill with Covid-19 early in 2020 and was forced to spend over a year in hospital after suffering major organ failure.

The beloved journalist has also made two documentaries since Derek left hospital as she continues to share the details of his journey with long Covid.
Finding Derek and Caring for Derek, has seen Kate highlight the difficulties she and their children Darcey and William, 12, have faced after she became a carer to the political lobbyist turned psychotherapist.
