Kate Garraway told to be quiet by ITV Good Morning Britain bosses during tense debate

Kate Garraway found herself in an awkward situation on Good Morning Britain after ITV bosses told her to “be quiet” during an intense debate.

The 54-year-old star was joined by her co-host Ben Shephard and guests Kevin Maguire and Iain Dale as they shared their thoughts behind the army being deployed to London hospitals to help support NHS staff.

It comes after the government announced 200 armed forces personnel are being made available to hospitals throughout the capital who have been hit by the new outbreak of Omicron over the festive period.

During the controversial topic, Kate interrupted while Kevin was speaking to share her thoughts on the latest efforts made to support medical workers.

Kate confessed: “One person – just very quickly because everyone’s telling me to be quiet, but that’s nothing new!”

It comes after the show was slammed following the numerous technical issues throughout the popular ITV programme on Friday, as Ben accused Kate as being the person responsible for all the glitches.

The dynamic duo hosted their regular Friday morning show but were faced with camera glitches minutes after they introduced the show as the camera randomly cut to a black screen with the words “KATE & DEREK STILL ULAY” on it.

Addressing the problems on set early on, Ben explained: “We have an issue – Kate have you been in the gallery?

Confused, Kate asked: “What?” as Ben probed: “Have you been in the gallery?”

It was at this point that the broadcaster suspected she was being set up for the problems on set as she replied: “What, because something’s gone wrong?”

Ben went on to point out: “Well, you spilt something and our mixing desk keeps getting stuck.

“Every now and again, strange things keep appearing on the screen. IT could keep happening throughout this morning’s show.

“There might be a live mic might go across – there you go, that’s just popped up! One of the buttons that you spilt coffee.”

Another black screen appeared, but this time read: “KATE NTA WIN MOVING ULAY EMMA”.

She joked: “Kate NTA win – always upset for that mistake to pop up!” as her co-host insisted: “That’s exactly why I think it’s you. You spilt a coffee up there. There’s a button stuck.”

But the broadcaster stood her ground and argued: “For once, I think I might not be responsible, which is a shock in itself.”
