Lindsay Lohan’s life – drug abuse, legal issues, Hollywood and ‘assault’ video

It may seem like longer, but it’s been nearly three decades since we first saw Lindsay Lohan.

The American made her TV debut all the way back in 1995, launching a career which would see her feature in one of the most quotable movies of all time.

A child star, Lindsay had just come off the back of shooting Freaky Friday when she joined the cast of Mean Girls.

That film was her first venture outside of the Disney universe and shot her to superstardom, with her performance as Cady Heron earning her five major awards, including two MTV Video Awards.

Lindsay had only turned 18 when the flick was released, but as a 36-year-old is now a household name.

The former ‘teen movie queen’ will be back on our screens next week, narrating a brand new dating show which will see a group of singles all head back to school in the hope of finding love.

Lovestruck High is the first effort from Prime Video of a reality show, so who better to narrate than Lindsay?

After all, she’s had quite a life so far to lend herself to the drama.

As the new show hits screens, Daily Star has looked into Lindsay’s life – past and present.

Drug abuse

Lindsay has been open and honest about her previous struggles with addiction.

She admitted to Oprah Winfrey in a past interview that she would use cocaine “10 to 15 times a day”, coupling it with alcohol on a regular basis in her early 20s.

Lindsay has checked herself into rehab on a number of occasions.

Speaking about her experiences in 2013, she said: “”I could write the book on rehab. Constantly sending me to rehab is pointless. The first few times I was court-ordered to rehab, it was like a joke, like killing time.

“But I think there are other things I could do instead of going to a rehab centre that would benefit me more. The best thing they could do for me would be to make me go abroad to different countries and work with children.”

Legal issues

2007 is seen as the worst of Lindsay’s life as her problems caught up with her.

During a tumultous twelve month period, Lindsay was convicted of drunken driving on two occasions, once for cocaine use, made three trips to rehab and was locked up for 84 minutes.

The second conviction came just two weeks after she had left rehab, while she would later fail to attend court-ordered substance abuse classes in 2009.

That same year, she was ordered to serve 90 days in prison after violating her probation.

In total, she has been ordered to spend time in jail on five separate occasions as a result of her misdemeanours.

However, things have improved in recent years and in 2015, her probation was ended by a judge, marking the first time in eight years she was free.

‘Assault video’

Lindsay’s romantic life has often come under scrutiny from the public eye as well. – most notably during one shocking video in 2016 which appeared to show her then-fiancé assaulting her.

A shocking video – filmed by an onlooker in Mykonos, Greece – appeared to show billionaire playboy Egor Tarabasov violently grabbing Lindsay and twisting her arm behind her back as he tried to grab a phone from her hand.

The row started as Lindsay and Egor, who met in October 2015 and got engaged earlier this year, sat in a jeep on the beach.

The film shows Lindsay throwing a phone out of the vehicle, and the pair jumping out to pick it up.

Egor is seen running after her and lunging towards her as he tries to grab the device, appearing to pull her arm behind her back in the struggle.

After he wrestles the phone off her, Lindsay gets back in the car, while Egor stands outside appearing to read a message.

Hollywood conquest list

There was major embarrassment for Lindsay in 2014 when her ‘f**k list* was leaked – detailing all the people the actress had to sleep with.

A publication called In Touch had got hold of the list, which had been scrawled on a Scattergories card by Lindsay with friends at the Beverly Hills Hotel in January 2013.

Among the names included: Ashton Kutcher, Danny Cipriani, Brian from GPA, Jamie Dornan and Riley S (a man she had met during a stay in rehab.)

Lohan later confirmed that the list was real, but that she had never intended for it to go public – explaining that she had actually written it as part of her recovery in AA.
