Love Island is back this year for another exciting series of sizzling contestants, debauchery and absolutely wild games.
ITV has shared the first two teasers for the show this evening, which will air in between breaks for Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday (May 7)
The short animated clips tease this year’s series as ITV firmly put their stamp on dating shows.
Both teasers feature psychedelic bright colours, with abstract graphics, one video, shows two pink figures floating about on pool floats.
The inflatable floats in orange say: “The OG’s of love,” as the two cute pink figures float closer to one another for a kiss.
Once the pink people kiss, the screen is showered with cute summer-themed emojis, including cherries, hearts with smiley faces, peaches and watermelons.
ITV list several other dating programmes as the screen cuts to an animated scene of the Love Island pool and garden, where contestants spend most of their time relaxing and flirting.
In the background, a huge sign reads “Love” in bright pink, with a flag stuck on the top that proudly reads: “We own it.”
In front of the pool, shows the famous bean bags, next to a hilarious cartoon version of last year’s bombshell winner, Millie Court before the Love Island jingle starts to play.
ITV recreate Millie’s iconic piano playing scene, where she dressed in a pink silk dress and matching heels, to play the piano as part of the talent show for the villa.
A toned cartoon male Islander then does a perfect “salmon jump” into the pool.
The silly jumping competition was first introduced to the show 2019 when funnyman Chris Taylor brought it to the Majorca villa in season five.
ITV appear to snub other dating shows in the second clip, another four-second animated clip, that started with the traditional Love Island pink and orange sunset colours before cutting to a pink television that reads: “Naked celebs go dating on a beach x.”
Eagle-eyed viewers would have noticed this is a jibe to Channel 4’s Naked Attraction and Celebs Go Dating.
It also takes a swipe at E4’s Ex On The Beach, as a huge pink Nike style sneaker drops from the sky and stamps on the television, turning it to mush.
The screen then cuts once again to the same hilarious scene of cartoon Millie playing her piano.
Both the tantalising teasers were released ahead of the official trailer which is rumoured to air sometime next week.
This year’s series is rumoured to showcase some pulse-raising new additions to the villa, including a huge revamped gym space, which producers hope will encourage flirting and hook-ups.
In fact, the entire villa is being relocated to a completely different part of the island.
Love Island returns this summer on ITV2 and ITV Hub
