A Love Island star has urged ITV’s producers to ban the use of one phrase inside the villa after they claimed it had been overused this series.
Over four million people are tuning in to the hit dating show every night, but many have been driven round the bend after the Islanders kept repeating ‘it is what it is’ while trying to justify actions or feelings.
On many occasions, that has led to the end of an interesting conversation – but now a former winner has agreed with calls for it to be cut from the air.

The argument came on the official Love Island : The Morning After podcast, hosted by series winner Kem Cetinay and Scottish DJ and superfan Arielle Free.
On Monday’s podcast, during a discussion about Dami and Indiyah, Kem said: “I feel like those two are bang into each other and they just can’t help it. We all struggle with rejection, and a couple of days ago they were really into each other. It is what it is, as they say.”
Arielle then broke in to ask: “Can we somehow get a pigeon, or something, into the villa to tell them to stop saying ‘it is what it is’ – we’ve had it in previous series, but never to this level. The degree of use of this term is doing my head in now. I used to love it! I like the roll-on of ‘until it isn’t’ but everyone is using it constantly and it’s a lot.”
Kem agreed, saying “It’s something that I’m conscious of that I’m now saying it on a day-to-day basis! I keep saying it to people.”
The preview for the episode on Tuesday (July 12) sent fans into a frenzy after ITV bosses teased an upcoming argument with Jacques O’Neil and his current partner Paige Thorne after bombshell Adam Collard entered the villa.
It’s clear to see the blond hunk was less than impressed with her decision to get to know the TV star as he was seen kicking up a storm in tomorrow night’s episode (July 12).
Gemma Owen could be heard saying: “Oh, he was p***ing you off” while Jacques stormed over to Paige who was sat on the daybed chatting to Adam.
