Love Island’s Faye Winter has joked that she will break Teddy Soares’s knee when it’s time for him to pop the question.
Since leaving the famous Majorca villa, their relationship has gone from strength to strength, with them even moving in with one another.
The pair met on the ITV2 dating show last year and are seriously loved up, so fans have been speculating about whether they are engaged – or when they will be.
Asked about it at the Pride of Manchester Awards, Faye told the Daily Star: “I mean, I wish, but everything happens in its own time.”
Teddy then chimed in coyly: “Yeah everything happens in its own time.”
Faye quipped: “Basically when I break his knee then he’s got to get down. If that’s the way it’s got to be, if it’s going to happen it’s got to happen that way – I will rugby tackle him!”
The couple’s romance has gone from strength to strength since they met in the reality TV villa and they moved into their own dream home together just months after the series wrapped.
In December, Teddy teased that a proposal was on the cards when he let slip that they’d had a few chats about engagement rings.
“Funny thing is, we were talking about Harry Winston and Tiffany’s, like rings and things,” he told Metro at the time.
“And I was thinking ‘Jesus,’ and she caught me out. She says, ‘Which ring would you get for me in terms of shapes, sizes, XYZ.’ I’m pretty sure I picked the wrong ring!”
And Faye recently dropped a bit of a hint when she told OK! that although there was “no pressure” she and Teddy were “really looking forward to the future”.
She said: “My mum and dad have been together 35 years and they’re not married, and they’re happy as Larry.
“But don’t worry, Teddy, that doesn’t mean you can’t not get me a ring!”
The MEN Pride of Manchester Awards, in partnership with TSB, will premiere on YouTube at 7pm on Tuesday 17 th May.
