The “money saving expert” was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s 2014 Birthday Honours for or services to consumer rights and to charitable services through the MSE Charity Fund.
For his work during the current Cost of Living Crisis, he has been given a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire).

A CBE is the highest-ranking Order of the British Empire award somebody can receive (not including a dame or knighthood) after OBE and then MBE.
People in the replies to his tweet congratulated Martin.
Davina McColl wrote: “Oh Martin!!! I’m so chuffed for you. I cannot think of anyone who deserves it more.”
Someone else wrote: “Well done on the new upgraded award. Personally I think you deserve a knighthood for all the work and effort you have put into, not just saving people money, but for banging a HUGE drum to raise awareness for people of their rights…”
Another user agreed, saying: “You deserve a knighthood Martin”.
When he was awarded the OBE in 2014, his company, MoneySavingExpert wrote on their website: “The first thing to say is, well done Martin, and thoroughly deserved.
