Michelle McManus gives birth as she announces arrival of son with sweet snap

Michelle McManus has given birth to a baby boy.

The singer, who rose to fame on ITV’s Pop Idol, took to Instagram to announce the news as she shared a sweet photo of her newborn as she confirmed her son was born in January.

She wrote: “Goodbye January! Although I don’t know how any other month this year could top you as you’re the month we welcomed the newest addition to our family.

“Please say hello to Nicholas Peter Nimmo.”

She added: “You are so perfect in every way and we’re just so madly in love with you. Thank you for completing our family and our world. Love Mummy, daddy and Harry.”

Michelle McManus announced the safe arrival of her second child

The photo saw her baby boy in a Moses basket wearing a white onesie with a blue and white cardigan over the top while he laid peacefully sleeping.

Behind the basket was cards gifted to the family following his arrival.

The star was flooded with well-wishes as one user wrote: “Big congratulations, wow! What a way to start the new year. All the best to you and your family.”

Another said: “Yass congrats pal. Hope everyone is doing good and enjoy the few months before Paw Patrol and Peppa Pig take over your TV.”

A third person wrote: “Welcome baby Nicholas. Lovely news, many congratulations Michelle.”

Two years ago Michelle gave birth to her firstborn Harry, who also arrived in January.

Once again Michelle had decided to hold off on the announcement until February and only announced her pregnancy a month before her little boy was born.

In November 2012, Michelle posted a photo with herself, her husband Jeff Nimmo and their little boy Harry as she wrote: “Harry playing peekaboo with mummy, daddy and bump, baby Nimmo number two due early 2022.”

She was inundated with messages of congratulations following the happy news, and now their bundle of joy has arrived.

While she was pregnant, Michelle tested positive for Covid-19, but she told fans that she was on the mend after contracting the virus and shared her gratitude to the NHS for the brilliant roll out across Scotland.

Michelle and her husband Jeff wed in Glasgow, Scotland in 2017 after dating for two years, with Jeff popping the question the year prior.
