N Dubz star Fazer shares surprise Hollywood career U-turn amid 2022 reunion rumours

N Dubz may not be getting back together any time soon but Fazer has other plans as he sets his sights on the big screen.

Fazer, 35, found fame as one-third of the hip-hop group with hits including I Need You, Playing With Fire and Strong Again, instantly winning over a legion of fans.

During an exclusive chat with the Daily Star, the musician whose real name is Richard Rawson, admits that while he will always be thankful for his bandmates, he has other career goals.

Despite Avatar 2 being slated for release in December 2022, he admits it’s a film he should have been involved in.

He said: “I want to work with Hans Zimmer, I want to work with Hans Zimmer on a movie soundtrack.

“That’s my next sort of venture that I’m going to put out there to the universe and make that happen.”

The Tears star went on to add: “I should be doing things like Avatar, the new Avatar, I should be doing the soundtrack for that.

“My understanding of music, I understand that it’s not just making beats in the studio, now, I properly understand music and how it works.

“How to work with real people and players at the same time.

“I’ve worked with full symphony orchestras in the past many times and done some amazing stuff with them.”

“If I’ve got the budget around me to do it and to be doing it for a certain project if I’ve got a film in front of me which I need to make the music too, it’s going to be sensational.”

Reflecting on his career with N Dubz and a potential reunion, he said: “We never said that we would never get back together, we always said we would at some point – it’s just about time.

“We never said it was off the cards we always said it’s going to come back at some point.

“Right now there’s a lot of sceptical stuff, but we will bring it back at some point.”

But when they do reform, they won’t be going through a record label, with Fazer explaining: “NFTs are the way forward for artists when it comes to piracy and getting paid, why would you ever sign to a record label?

“It’s the way forward for artists because it deletes the whole thing of having a record label and it puts the consumers in a position to, theoretically speaking, become the record label.

“They’re financing your careers, they’re financing your videos and everything and in return, they’ll hold stake holds in the percentages.”
