The organisers of the famous Neighbours tour have revealed that the soap’s set is to be “dismantled” – and that a new TV project could potentially take its place.
Australian soap Neighbours came to an end last night (July 29, 2022) after 37 years, with famous faces including Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan and Guy Pearce returning to Ramsay Street to say farewell.
A spokesperson for the official Neighbours tour has now revealed that the soap’s set is to be taken down – and also hinted that the space may make way for another TV project.

Speaking about what will happen to the set, Terry Smit of Go West who look after the official Neighbours tour, told Daily Star exclusively: “We are advised by Fremantle Media that the sets will be dismantled and that the space will be used for their next project, whatever that may be.”
The news of the set being dismantled seemingly hints that the popular soap will not be returning too, as a new Fremantle Media project looks set to take the place of Neighbours in the production lot, according to the statement.
However, it has not been confirmed what “project” could potentially take up residence in the Neighbours lot – and whether this could potentially be another soap in place of Neighbours.
Daily Star has approached Fremantle Media for comment regarding the new project.
Terry also explained that the official Neighbours tour will also come to an end too, adding: “As the sets are being dismantled, there is nothing left for us to tour, so the tour will be discontinued.”
Final tours of the set are taking place the weekend of July 30-31, 2022, with a statement on the official Neighbours tour website confirming that all spaces are fully booked as fans take a look around Ramsay Street one last time.
The official Neighbours tour took fans to the Fremantle Studio lots, where the interior scenes of the soap were filmed, as well as the real life Ramsay Street in Melbourne, Australia.
According to the official Neighbours tour website, “Ramsay Street is a real street where ordinary people live!” advising fans that “Entry into the yards and houses is not permitted.”
Although the set is being dismantled, hope may still remain for a future Neighbours return as Ramsay Street is a real place – meaning the sets could be built elsewhere in the future.
However for the time being, it looks as if we are sadly saying goodbye to both Erinsborough and the famous Neighbours set tour for now.
