Paul O'Grady fans fume at major ITV issue as For The Love of Dogs Royal ep 'spoiled'

Paul O’Grady brought the usual cheer to our telly screens this week as he returned for a Royal special of his ITV show For the Love of Dogs.

But TV viewers were left fuming as they spotted one major issue while tuning into the heart-wrenching programme.

As usual, a whole host of adorable pooches turned up, including older gentleman Reggie who was suffering from stomach problems, and tiny puppy Flora who found a new home with one of the film crew.

It was the lack of subtitles, however, which had angry fans turning to social media in droves.

One fumed: “#pogdogs come on tech guys, please sort the subtitles out!!”, as another agreed: “Seriously, after last year’s subtitling fiasco, there’s even more problems with #pogdogs not being subtitled? What’s the deal *now* @itv?”

Someone else wrote: “Where’s the subtitles? #pogdogs.”

A fourth fan said: “No subtitles for #pogdogs – a bit poor for itv.”

While another “disappointed” viewer wrote: “Disappointing from @ITV tonight – Prime time TV with #pogdogs and no subtitles available. #NotGoodEnough.”

The Royal special took place at Clarence House, with Queen Consort Camilla in attendance to share her love of the puppies.

In attendance was Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, who was practically glowing in a summer dress as she cradled a puppy in her arms.

Camilla even showed how she gets her own pooches to take pills they don’t fancy – by hiding tablets in tasty sausages.

Despite her lofty status, Camilla wasn’t afraid to get involved with the adorable pups – and other viewers were loving it.

Speaking of their friendship, Paul gushed: “She’s really funny, we get on really well. You don’t feel like you’re on ceremony with her. I always get a big hug and kiss from her, which always shocks everybody!

“Camilla is dog mad. She’s got Battersea dogs of her own already, she’s got two Jack Russells. She’s genuinely interested in what’s going on at Battersea and genuinely concerned. We were talking about how busy it is there now.”

He added to Politicalite about the filming process: “It was [during] the heatwave. So we were all togged up in suits, boiling hot looking for places to go in the shade!”
