Rachel Stevens booted off Dancing on Ice after tense skate off with Kye White

Rachel Stevens has officially become the latest celebrity to be dropped from this year’s series of Dancing on Ice.

Rachel Stevens and Kye White both found themselves in the bottom two on Sunday (6 February), which meant they were forced to battle it out in the dreaded dance off.

Rachel, who is partnered with Brendyn Hatfield, was also in the bottom two last week – but found herself scraping through the tense elimination round.

And their suave performance to Lady A hit Need You Now blew viewers at home away.

Kye and his partner Tippy Packard, meanwhile, danced their own incredible routine, which left Stephen Mulhern simply telling them: “Wow, wow, wow.”

Speaking about her elimination, Rachel said: “It’s definitely been a process [but] I’ve loved it and I loved working with Brendan so that you so much.

“It’s so special for them [her children] to be a part of it and keep up with the show, but I’m going to miss Brendan the most.”

Show host Holly Willoughby and guest host funnyman Stephen Mulhern welcomed back the stars as they took to the ice for their fourth week of the popular ITV skating competition.

This week’s theme was Dance Week, which mean that the celebrity line up had to bring their A game as they paid tribute to some of their favourite genre of dance ranging from Disco to Tango and everything in between.

But that’s not all the star-studded cast were tasked with this week, as fans saw the return of the Judges Challenge.

For the opening week of the TV challenge, the celebs were asked to perform a solo spin as part of their routine and it’s fair to say the judges were blown away with their results.

The episode saw BMX star Kye White made an epic return to the ice with his partner Tippy Packard after he sprained his ankle during training last week.

But this week’s episode was a lot more dramatic, as The Vamps star Connor Ball split the stitches in his chin – which had been applied before the show – in a horror injury moment.

He and partner Alexandra Schauman were supposed to dance first, but had their performance delayed after Connor got hurt.

Temporary host Stephen Mulhern explained to viewers: “Just to point out, I don’t know if you can see this. Obviously Dancing on Ice is completely live.

“Connor just before the show – he was supposed to open the entire show – but had an accident backstage.

“He had stitches before the show so he couldn’t go on first and they’ve now opened.”

He added: “Mate, first of all I don’t know how you still performed, it must be going through your head. What happened backstage?”

Connor replied: “I was a bit stressed about the spin, so I kept trying to perfect the spin and I slipped out and smacked my face on the ice.”

Love Island star Liberty Poole, Happy Mondays star Bez and former Strictly dancer Brendan Cole were among the celebs dancing to impress judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean.

But Rachel failed to wow the judges on the night and was ultimately eliminated from the high-stakes competition.
