Real Housewives' Nicole praises Lauren for 'not putting herself' in awkward situation

Nicole Sealey has thrown support behind her pal Lauren Simon after Katie Alex joined the cast of ITVBe’s The Real Housewives of Cheshire.

Lauren was left speechless when her ex-boyfriend and first love Mason appeared during episode one of the programme as businesswoman and nurse Katie joined the glamorous girls.

Mason and Lauren dated when she was aged 18 before splitting up when she was 21 but the red-headed beauty claims there is “more” to their relationship than him being her first love.

Episode two of the show saw Katie fume as she was left annoyed over the “boring Lauren story” but businesswoman Nicole has thrown her support behind ‘Lozza’.

She exclusively told the Daily Star: “I’m friends with Lauren so I know a lot more than some of the other girls, it isn’t just about he had been a previous boyfriend, there is more to it.

“I think it does come out pretty balanced, I hope people will see it’s not just about that someone had a relationship, which is a little bit odd.

“I feel like I say what everybody else is thinking, let’s put it like that.

“Katie has chosen to put herself in that situation, Lauren didn’t – that’s my view on it.”

She continued: “Everyone is welcome, we’re making a TV show, I would always make everyone welcome, at the end of the day, I will equally say Lauren didn’t put herself in a situation.”

Nicole may appear on the hit show but she is one of the UK’s most successful businesswomen and a key figure in the rail industry as well as sports management and becoming a property investor.

However, life wasn’t all Prada for the brunette bombshell who left school with no qualifications but now hopes to inspire future entrepreneurs.

She said: “I’ve never used the fact that I was a woman, I just thought I was good at what I did.

“Times have changed, I’d have never survived in the industry if I was offended easily, it doesn’t mean it’s right, what I can take doesn’t mean someone else can take.

“I believe in life that maybe one thing that something traumatic can happen to another but yet the one with the least trauma reacts worse.

“My industry was renowned for sexism and racism, it was horrendous, there were obstacles along the way but I felt when I had to stand up when it mattered, I did.

“Maybe now I can be a little bit more vocal and help others on how I got to where I am.”

The Real Housewives of Cheshire returns to ITVBe at 9PM on Mondays.
