Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins star Maisie Smith has spoken about the “horrific” interrogation she received on the show as she was repeatedly “kicked in the back”.
Speaking about the “tough” experience, the 21-year-old former EastEnders actress has revealed that the final stage of the show’s process led to her getting kicked in the back to test her.
To make it to the end and pass the course, each contestant must have the mental dexterity to survive under extreme physical and psychological pressure – which is why they all go through the interrogation process.

“Interrogation was so tough,” she explained.
She then added that she was forced to listen to the “highest frequencies in the world screaming into your ears for hour upon hour”.
Before explaining how she had to sit in a certain position and how if she would slouch they’d “kick her up the back”.
“The only rest I’d get was if I needed the toilet. So every three hours I’d be like, ‘I need the toilet,’ just so I could stand up,” she went on.
In terms of the food she was given, Maisie said that she got a slice of toast with jam on – something she doesn’t like, but still ate because she was “starving”.
“I can’t put it into words how brutal it felt because it was never-ending,” she admitted.
Having no real grasp of or concept of time, Maisie had no idea what time it was and wasn’t sure if she had been in interrogation for five or 10 hours.
“I just sat there blindfolded listening to pigs screaming in my ears. It was horrific. God, it was just unbearable.”
She revealed that she found ways to cope though, and would write songs or raps in her head to pass the time.
“So with the pigs screaming in my ear, if it had a repetitive pattern to it, I’d find a little beat and make a little rap because I was about to go mad. My brain, it felt like mush. I felt like I was literally going crazy because I didn’t know what I was thinking.”
She later added: “I’m constantly trying to be that strong woman that I’ve always wanted to be.
“The reason I work so hard and push myself is because I’m not confident and I have to constantly try and prove myself.
“But looking back, I can’t relive the pain and the exhaustion that I felt.
“I only remember just feeling so empowered and strong. It was brutal and it was pain I’d never felt and exhaustion, dehydration, all of that. But it was also the moment I felt the best in myself. It just completely changed my outlook on everything.”
