Saturday Night Takeaway fans concerned as Stephen Mulhern disappears from show

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway fans have been left wondering where regular star Stephen Mulhern is, after he failed to appear for the second week in a row.

The ITV presenter is a familiar face on the show, hosting segments including the yearly competition between lead stars Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

Stephen appeared in the new series’ first episode on February 19, but has not appeared since then, leaving viewers at home confused.

And following his no-show on Saturday night (March 5), fans took to Twitter to wonder out loud where he was.

“Where the hell has Stephen Mulhern been the last two weeks this show is nothing without him?” one person tweeted.

Another said: “Loving the show but where is Stephen Mulhern?”

And a third added: “Where is Stephen he’s not been in the show for the past two weeks?”

On top of that, Stephen has not posted on Twitter or Instagram since February 19 either, which was when the new series started.

At the time, he shared a photo of himself in some fun costumes alongside the caption: “Here we go again, let the madness begin. Which look is your favourite? Saturday Night Takeaway is back tonight.”

While Stephen wasn’t personally on the show on Saturday night, he did get a mention during Ant and Dec’s acting segment, with celebrity guest Jo Brand trying to bag a date with him.

Stephen, 44, has worked with Ant and Dec for years, even landing his own solo show – In For A Penny – which is based on a segment he presented on Saturday Night Takeaway.

And fans hoping to see him on their screens should have tuned in to ITV earlier in the night, as he also presents Catchphrase.

Saturday night’s celebrity special saw contestants Vicky Pattison, Alex Brooker and Max Whitlock trying to win cash for charity.

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway airs Saturdays at 7pm on ITV
