Sex Pistols' star John Lydon calls director Danny Boyle an 'a******e'

Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon has branded director Danny Boyle an “a******e’ on This Morning.

The music legend was discussing the new Pistol miniseries about his band which will launch on Disney Plus this week.

In the interview Lydon repeated previously claims her has made that production company Disney and the series director Boyle never consulted him before making the show.

Host Alison Hammond read responses to his allegations from Disney and Boyle – in which they alleged they had tried to consult him but he had declined to speak to them.

During the segment on This Morning, Alison read out a quote from the director for John and viewers to hear.

She read out: “Danny Boyle has previously said, ‘I love Lydon for what he does and I don’t want him to like it. I think that he’s he has an absolute right. Why would you change the habit of a lifetime?’ That’s Danny Boyle.”

Butting in, Lydon then smirked as he said what an “you ******e”, before casually sipping a cup of tea, much to the horror of Dermot and Alison, who quickly apologised for the bad language..

Twitter users found John’s comment hilarious and took to the social media platform to share their views.

One said: “You have Johnny Rotten on and you should expect some swearing, I shocked he only did it once.”

Another wrote: “@lydonofficial bringing Daytime TV into disrepute with his articulate, precise opinions! Go Jonny!”

A third added: “Dermot, Alison and John Lydon, and only one a***hole slip! Brilliant viewing that I thought could implode at any sec but even Alisons body language was solidly beautiful. Bravo!!”

John lashed out at the show, and called it a “pile of nonsense”.

He said he would have been “absolutely” on board with the series if he was given more information and was told ahead of time.

The show was produced by Disney and stars Game of Thrones’ Maisie Williams, Dylan Llewellyn, Louis Partridge, Emma Appleton, and Anson Boon.
