Sharon Osbourne announces her big return to TV alongside old pal Piers Morgan

Sharon Osbourne is set to make a big return to TV alongside her old pal Piers Morgan.

Following her exit from CBS’ The Talk, the showbiz icon will now join Piers at TalkTV for her own current affairs show.

It will also be called The Talk and will air for an hour each night every week.

Every episode will see Sharon, 69, joined by five “opinionated famous faces” (presumably Piers will get a call-up) to discuss the latest news.

Sharon said: “I’m excited to be working with News UK, the panel and my good friend Piers.

“Watch this space for some exciting and lively debates from us all.”

The pair will both have shows on TalkTV later this year

News UK Chief Executive Rebekah Brooks said: “Sharon has built a unique and hugely successful media career, combining strong views and opinion with a lot of warmth and fun.

“Her unbounding energy will make her show compelling viewing and we are delighted to give her a new home at TalkTV.”

TalkTV is set to launch later this year with Sharon’s new show, as well has Piers’ new venture Uncensored.

It would seem that Sharon is taking a leaf from the former Good Morning Britain star’s book, as The Talk is said to feature “outspoken views” and “honest straight-talking debate”.

Sharon left her CBS show last year following an on-screen row with co-host Sheryl Underwood, with the entire production now paused.

Funnily enough, it came as she was defending Piers’ controversial comments on Meghan Markle which led him to him leaving Good Morning Britain.

This latest announcement isn’t the first we’ve heard of a new show from Sharon, with the star previously teasing a new venture.

In a video posted online she said: “I want to share that I have been signed to do a new TV show, it’ll be starting very soon and I couldn’t be happier.

“I can’t tell you where the show is yet, and what network, because the TV company have to do that, that’s not my job.

“Once they announce it then we can all talk about it and we can all go, ‘She hasn’t, she didn’t, she couldn’t’. Well, I did.

“I’ll be seeing you on TV very soon.”
