Hollywood star Sharon Stone has touched upon her “extraordinary” meeting with Queen Elizabeth II and how she plans to keep the late Monarch ‘near her’.
Like so many of us around the world, Sharon is mourning the death of Her Majesty following her passing on Thursday, September 8.
Taking to Instagram to pay her respects, Sharon opened up about the time she met the Queen at a polo match – adding that she plans to now keep her close at all times.

Posting a photo of the Queen on her stories with a black background, Sharon penned a sombre message for her millions of followers to read.
The actress penned: “I had the extraordinary experience to be invited by Her Majesty the Queen of England to join in her box for a polo match and to meet her.
“Formidable, stunning, elegant, and yet underneath I could sense a whisper of delicious humour.”
Sharon continued: “She appraised me with her cool authority and sent me on my way.
“I felt seen. I experienced her.”
The actress then revealed one very sweet thing that she does to keep the Queen close to her at all times: “I keep her photo hanging near,” she explained.
“That sense of knowing thy self is a guidepost.”
She then concluded with: “For whom do we serve if not the other!
“God bless the Queen,” complete with a red heart.

The United Kingdom – and the entire world – are now mourning the late Queen Elizabeth following on from her passing on Thursday evening.
Her death came after the palace revealed that the 96-year-old Monarch was experiencing a bout of ill-health and was under “medical supervision”.
Hours later at 6:30pm, the news broke that Her Majesty has died “peacefully” at her home in Balmoral, Scotland.
