The Spice Girls were left terrified when Victoria Beckham announced she would not be part of their reunion plans, Melanie C has claimed.
The group reunited in 2019, performing across the UK at sold-out stadium shows and have not disbanded – teasing fans that more plans are on the horizon.
At the time, Victoria, 48, admitted it took a lot of guts to step away from the Spice world but explained that her priorities had changed.

She said she would attend one of their shows but it later emerged that Posh Spice hadn’t seen the girls perform on their tour.
Now, Melanie C has revealed how they truly felt – explaining that there were a lot of nerves before they first took to the stage.
Speaking on the Diary of a CEO podcast, Sporty Spice said: “There was a few feelings about that because obviously we were gutted, we wanted her there, truly wanted her there.
“And we were scared because we thought ‘Sh*t, are people are gonna want us as a four-piece?’ in a different configuration.
“Let’s be honest here, Victoria is a huge international icon, you know, she has gone on to be something in her right you know, in the fashion world in the world of celebrity.
“She’s much bigger than the others of us individually, I don’t think anything is as big as the Spice Girls, we all feel that.”
Melanie continued: “Without her, people couldn’t take us seriously.
“So there were different feelings around it, the wonderful thing about it was she was very supportive and it was really important for us to make sure she was happy.
“She was involved creatively, you know, we wanted her to sign everything off, we wanted her to know exactly what we were going to do.”
The mum-of-one added: “It was such an incredible experience that it felt like she was part of it anyway.”
Discussing Victoria’s decision to not join the lineup, Mel explained: “The public statement is because of family and commitments.
“I think, you know, on a more personal level, and I think this has been said, I don’t think she’d mind me saying, when we did the Olympics in 2012, she had a really hard time.
“She was petrified, we were all bloody petrified but to the point it was worth it but she had a lot of anxiety around that performance that she was like ‘You know what girls, I’m putting my dancing shoes up.'”
Last week, we revealed how the Spice Girls had been forced to withdraw from performing at the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations due to scheduling conflicts.
