Stacey Solomon has welcomed a new furry friend into her family just weeks after the death of her 11-year-old dog Theo.
The Loose Women star introduced her loyal legion of fans to her new family member on social media after her tiny tots fell in love with the Spaniel at a rehoming centre.
The 32-year-old explained how they named the golden pup, adorably named Teddy, happily fitted in to the family home after their Dachshund Peanut fell in love with his furry friend after the death of their family pet.
She revealed how her elderly dog died in her arms shortly after Christmas which left her and her family utterly heartbroken.
The starlet couldn’t wait to show off her family member online as she shared her experience on Instagram over the weekend.
On Sunday evening, the family unit went to meet their potential new pup at a foster home close to the dog shelter.
The next day, Stacey shared a sweet snap of the cuddly pup as he posed with the family and his new best friend Peanut.
Alongside the series of sweet snaps, she wrote an emotional post in dedication to her late dog, Theo.
She penned: “Welcome Home Teddy. Last night we rescued a dog. But today I’m not sure who has rescued who. We miss you so much Theo.
“I hope you’re looking down from heaven smiling, knowing that peanut will no longer be so very lonely and that a doggy who really needed a family now has one. To the moon and back, always.”
After the morning school run, Stacey shared an adorable montage of the first few hours after they’d welcomed him home.
In the short clip, she took her new four-legged friend over to the grave where the family had buried their late pet.
The shrine sits under the sprawling magnolia tree in the backyard of her £1.2million Essex home.
In her lengthy story, she wrote: “Been speaking to the incredibly lady at the dog rescue all day and now we are off on a little late night adventure to meet a little fur baby who’s being fostered and needs a home and our home & family would be a good match.
“We are taking Peanut and the little pickles to meet him. I hope you’re having a lovely Sunday.”
On Monday morning she updated her loyal legion of fans that they had met their perfect pup just one month after she revealed how her.
The loving mum explained: “So we ended up bringing the little doggy home late last night. We couldn’t leave without him. He’s so lovely.
“He was bred by someone who was breeding dogs for sale and he wasn’t good enough for sale so they got rid of him.
“When we learned about him and then saw Peanut’s reaction to him there was no doubt in our mind that he was coming home.”
The TV presenter went on to say how her family have loved welcoming the new addition to their home and would show off the little one later on that day after he had settled in.
She went on: “I didn’t know we would be able to bring him home straight away so we were a little unprepared, we’ve spent last night and today settling him and getting him all sorted.
“As soon as I’ve finished the school run madness and fed everyone I can’t wait for you to meet our newest member of the family … lots and lots of love. Happy Monday.”
