On Friday night (October 28), Craig joined Alex Jones as a presenter on The One Show – where a clip of a tense exchange between him and Bruce on the first ever episode of Strictly was played.

The clip saw Bruce seemingly accidentally refer to Craig as “Craig Devil Horwood” while he was critiquing newsreader Natasha Kaplinsky’s dance with her professional partner Brendan Cole.

Sharing his view on her dance, Craig said in the clip: “Natasha, I’m afraid I don’t agree with any of the other judges.

“I thought you were dull, dull, dull.”

Speaking ahead of the clip, Alex said: “It didn’t get off to a great start because the lovely Sir Bruce didn’t seem to remember your name.”

Of the exchange, an embarrassed Craig replied: “Oh dear. Devil.

“He didn’t know my name then.”

Craig later revealed that Bruce had also been responsible for changing his place on the judging panel from one end to the other.

He added: “They had to move me from that end because Brucie had to go down the line and I was always getting booed so he said, ‘we can’t do that. Craig needs to go to the other end.’

“I’ve been up that end [since] so that it ends on a positive.”

Later in the show, Craig and Alex interviewed this year’s Strictly hopeful and EastEnders star James Bye.

Appearing on the programme alongside his dance partner Amy Dowden, Craig brutally referring to James’ dance from last weekend as a “disaster”.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday (October 29) and The One Show airs weekdays on BBC One.
