Strictly star shares struggles of being strapped into so many girdles on BBC show

Loose Women star Judi Love has opened up about some of her trickier moments on Strictly Come Dancing.

The comedienne exclusively chatted to the Daily Star about her Strictly experience and a new campaign she is working on to help those over 40s start online dating.

Judi, 42, said: “A hard thing I had to go through was learning how to dance with so many girdles and being strapped in. Proper strapped in, so that was very interesting.”

She added: “But the whole team are absolutely terrific; the makeup team, the hair team, the costume and production. They are so phenomenal.

“They win awards but I still don’t think they realise how good they are.

“I mean, there was one time I was literally being sewn in as I was going up the stairs!”

Judi continued: “I think it’s the hardest thing physically I’ve done since giving birth. It was really hard but I loved it and I would definitely go back again.

“It was such an eye-opening experience when you go into something and you think ‘yeah, I’ve got rhythm’ and then you’re like ‘na, these people are like athletes’. It was another level of dancing.

“It’s the same as going out of your comfort zones with online dating – there were many times I was like ‘can I do this or can’t I? And it’s a great feeling after.

“No I didn’t win but I still got a great experience and it’s the same with online dating – you might necessarily meet the one this month but might have connected with someone else, built up banter and communication and there’s just so much to learn which is the same as Strictly.”

Judi Love has partnered with Virgin Media O2 for this year’s Get Online Week, to help singletons over 40 swipe right and find romance. The annual digital inclusion campaign run by charity, Good Things Foundation, taking place between October 17 and 23 2022, helps communities across the UK brush up on their online skills and become more digitally confident.
