Strictly's Hamza seen doing 'advanced' routine years ago despite 'no dancing experience'

Strictly Come Dancing star Hamza Yassin has been spotted showing off his impressive moves in an unearthed clip from 12 years ago.

The 32-year-old presenter and cameraman and his professional partner Jowita Przystal were crowned the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2022 over the weekend.

He was described on the show has having “no dance experience” but footage has come to light of Hamza doing an “advanced” dance routine.

Hamza’s former class mate told the publication: “For the BBC to continue insisting he is a complete novice even when faced with hard evidence in the form of a video of him performing an ‘advanced’ Paso Doble feels extremely misleading.

“Yet the mistruths were still being aired on Saturday’s show.”

It comes after an emotional Jowita told viewers on home after winning the competition that Hamza “came here on the show with no dancing experience, with pigeon toes, and he made it.”

The BBC has declined to comment on Hamza’s university dancing and Hamza’s spokesman share that “he took part in two amateur dance performances”.

Hamza and Jowita won Strictly despite finishing bottom in the judges’ scoring for the final.

He was up against Fleur East, Helen Skelton and Molly Rainford and their partners.

Hamza had been a firm favourite with fans of the BBC show throughout the series, but the fact that he did not perform to his best in the final prompted some to scream “fix” on social media platforms afterwards.

However, the TV personality decided to ignore such comments and took to Instagram to offer his thoughts on the victory.

“I am still trying to comprehend what happened last night,” he confessed on Sunday (December 18) evening before hailing Jowita as an “angel disguised as a human being” and a “ray of sunshine”.

He went on to add: “Thank you for your trust and guidance throughout this incredible journey.
