Strictly's Tony Adams' pal teases star is dark horse and warns 'don't bet against him'

The Masked Dancer stars have warned viewers not to “bet against Tony Adams ” on Strictly Come Dancing after sudden ITV exit.

On Saturday (October 1), viewers were left utterly gobsmacked after Pillar and Post were unmasked as Dancing on Ice couple David and Frankie Seaman after five weeks on the beloved talent competition.

During their time on the series, the former footballer and his skating wife, both 59, fully embraced their larger-than-life postal characters as they danced their socks off in an attempt to wow judges with their impressive moves.

Unfortunately, the dynamic duo was forced to drop out of the show early after the professional skater injured her ankle in rehearsals, but that hasn’t stopped them from supporting their fellow sporting legend Tony Adams on the BBC One dance competition.

In an exclusive interview with Daily Star, the legendary goalkeeper shared his thoughts on his close pal’s performance on the show so far as he admitted Tony is completely “out of his comfort zone”.

He said: “He’s doing very well, I know Tony very well and he’s well out of his comfort zone.

“And even after the first performance I text him and said to him, ‘I bet that’s the worst you’ve ever felt for nerves in your life’ and he went ‘Exactly’.

“I felt exactly the same when I did Dancing on Ice. It’s the most nerve-wracking thing I’ve ever done and I’m sure – well I know it is for Tony. Now that he’s got over that, he’s gonna be getting better.”

His wife Frankie went on to warn BBC viewers that the Arsenal captain is a “fighter” and hinted that he is going to throw his all into the show.

She warned: “Don’t bet against Tony he’s a fighter, he’s a survivor. He’s overcome some amazing things and achieved some incredible things in spite of what he’s overcome so don’t bet against him.

“I mean, we know he’s going to have a natural end to his dancing career at some point.”
