The Chase fans floored as EastEnders icon 'lookalike' tries his luck on ITV show

The Chase fans were completely taken aback when an EastEnder’s icon lookalike graced the quiz show during Friday night’s episode.

On Friday, Janurary 7, Kenny, a retired police worker, appeared on the show and attempted to win a small fortune.

Joined by Charlotte, Erin and Lewis, Kenny and the other three contestants were up against The Governess, Anne Hegerty.

But fans couldn’t focus on the show, with many caught up in how familiar Kenny looked.

Many fans and viewers of The Chase took to Twitter to discuss just who the contestant reminded them of, with many coming to the same conclusion.

Taking to Twitter, one said: “Phil Mitchell appearing on The Chase #thechase.”

A second person chimed in: “Pound shop Phil Mitchell looks promising #TheChase.”

And a third penned: “Kenny Mitchell am I wrong #TheChase.”

But some other people thought he looked more like another soap star, but this time from the cobbled streets of Coronation Street.

“Les Battersby seat 2 lol!! #TheChase,” one said.

Fans were quick to compare Kenny to EastEnders icon Phil Mitchell

While someone else said: “Kenny. Poundshop inflateable #LesDennis.”

Kenny, Erin and Lewis went on to compete in the final round of the gameshow.

The former police worker banked £5,000, Erin banked £7,000, and Lewis managed to bank £5,000 – meaning the threesome battled it out with Anne for a whopping £17,000.

In the final round, the trio managed to get 15 questions correct, meaning The Governess had two minutes to beat the team of three.

The team managed to push the chaser back on three questions, meaning they had a few extra seconds over Anne.

With 14 seconds to spare, the chaser caught the three quizzers, meaning they lost the £17,000 they had banked.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV
