The Chase fans couldn’t help blushing when one contestant revealed his racy-sounding credentials on the ITV quiz show.
The hit quiz show returned on Monday night (March 28), and it saw hopeful players Dick, Louis, Penelope and Sophie take on the Chaser in a bid to take home a hefty cash prize.
As always, the aim of the game was to out-run “Britain’s finest quiz brains” by successfully answering questions of general knowledge.
First up to face genius quiz-buff Paul Sinha was Dick, a company director from Cumbria who also happened to be 69-years-old.
However, eagle-eyed viewers were immediately distracted and started blushing at the player’s credentials as they sounded rather rude if read in the right context.
The fans couldn’t help giggling about the contestant’s credentials on Twitter during the show.
One chuckling fan wrote: “Dick, 69 on The Chase,” as they attached a series of laughing and aubergine emojis.
A second wrote: “Dick is 69” alongside a meme.
A third commented: “Dick, 69, from Cumbria They’ve done that on purpose.”
A fourth added: “Dick, 69 from Cumbria” with a laughing-face emoji.
Dick is the UK marketing director for his son’s design-engineering company, which is based in the Philippines.
Speaking to Bradley, the player revealed he’d spend any potential winnings on his 50th wedding anniversary.
He also admitted he’d promised his grandchildren a smaller sum of money each, £10.
Although he struggled in his cash-builder round, Dick was able to rack up £3000 and make it back to his teammates, meaning he secured himself a spot in the Final Chase.
After his cash-builder, Bradley had told the player: “Undone by some modern culture questions there, Dick. Three grand. I think you’re a better player than that.”

Appreciating Bradley’s comment, Dick replied: “Thank you.”
He was joined by his teammates Sophie and Penelope in the final – and the trio had £17000 in the pot.
Sadly though, Paul Sinha was too good for the team and caught them all with 17 seconds remaining on the clock, which meant the team went hom empty-handed.
However, Paul was quick to praise the team, telling them: “You have to be absolutely proud of how you played.”
