The Chase viewers mock Bradley Walsh over 'embarrassing' question blunder

Bradley Walsh has been mocked by fans online after he made a series of question blunders on the latest episode of ITV’s The Chase.

The TV presenter returned to his hosting slot as four new contestants teamed up to bag a cash prize against chaser Anne Hegerty, aka, The Governess.

But as player Adrian took his chanced against Anne in his head-to-head, Bradley appeared to challenge some of his answers before learning that they were in fact the correct responses.

One question asked: “The author of the best-selling novel ‘Lace’ is the mother of which fashion designer?

Adrian chose Jasper Conran as his answer, before Bradley began to spew his opinion that this was incorrect and he should have gone with Paul Smith.

After it was revealed to be the right answer, Bradley then went on a rant about how he had been” caught out”.

“Now I’d have been caught out that’s interesting. Right now what about that. I was thinking that the actual book is about lace, Nottingham lace, where Paul Smith is from. I’d have been caught out completely there I’d have gone Paul Smith all day long.”

Viewers didn’t take kindly to Bradley dissing the players answer unfairly, with some telling him to just “keep quiet.”

One fan fumed: “Brad is so fu**ing thick #thechase.”

“Brad just keep quiet you know nuffink so don’t query anyone’s answer! #TheChase,” added a second.

A third penned: “Bradley should be so rude telling a player they’re wrong when he clearly doesn’t know anything himself.”

There were a few other instances of Bradley offering up what his guess would have been after a player picked their answer, leaving Bradley red faced yet again after the contestant picked the right answer.

Only three contestants made it to the final with £13,000 after Dan was booted off having attempted to bag the top prize offer of £42k.

The Chaser was able to catch the trio’s 16 correct answers with 35 seconds left, sending them home with nothing.

With coverage of the Queen’s state funeral dominating screens over the last ten days, many TV shows including The Chase were cancelled as a sign of respect.

The majority of channels opted for blanket coverage of the the Queen’s funeral and other Royal Family-related programming.

Among the cancelled programmes were EastEnders, Emmerdale, Coronation Street, and Tipping Point.
