The One Show fans hope for Eurovision leak as BBC programme set to reveal host city

The One Show fans are hoping a major “leak” will take place as a pre-recorded segment will reveal the host city for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest

Fans have learned that the BBC show will welcome host Graham Norton on to the show to announce the city on tomorrow’s episode (Friday October 7th).

With some of the show being pre-recorded, fans are pleading with show insiders to leak the clip so they can learn the news early.

Another added: “But they usually record that show on a Thursday evening don’t they?! I wonder if it will leak out…?”

A third penned: “Noooo I don’t want to wait anymore!! Leak it!”

While appearing as a guest today on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with Sky, long term BBC commentator Graham Norton revealed that he will be on The One Show tomorrow to discuss the host city of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023.

Graham Norton will announce the host city tomorrow night

Although yet to be officially confirmed when exactly the announcement will be made, Graham said on the radio that we will know the answer by the time he appears on The One Show tomorrow night.

He will also be joined in discussion by Sam Ryder who represented the United Kingdom in 2022 with Space Man.

After a shortlist of seven potential UK host cities were revealed in August, last week this list was whittled down further to a head-to-head battle between the cities of Glasgow and Liverpool.

Scottish city Glasgow’s bid has been submitted with the OVO Hydro as the proposed venue for the contest, meanwhile English city Liverpool has opted for the M&S Bank Arena.

Currently Glasgow is being tipped as the favoured bid with a 67% chance according to the odds.

Graham said: “Myself and Sam, on Friday night, we will be discussing where Eurovision is going to be — because we’ll know by then.”

The 2023 contest marks the first time since 1980 that the winning country of the previous year has been unable to host the contest.

Ukraine were denied permission by the EBU to host due to ongoing circumstance in the country.

The UK, runner up of 2022 was selected as an alternative host country that will collaborate with Ukrainian broadcaster UA:PBC.

This will be the 9th time the United Kingdom has hosted the Eurovision Song Contest
