The Power Of The Dog is the current favourite to win Best Film at the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2022, ahead of Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast and sci-fi epic Dune.
The Western Drama, starring Doctor Strange and Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch, has been nominated for a number of awards at the event.
Bookmaker William Hill has now listed the film as the odds-on favourite to win Best Film at the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2022, with odds of 4/7, when the ceremony is held on Sunday March 13, 2022.
The critically acclaimed film is also in the running to win best adapted screenplay, while actors Kodi Smith-McPhee and Jesse Plemons have both been nominated for Best Supporting Actor.
Jane Campion is also nominated for Best Director.

Meanwhile, Benedict Cumberbatch is nominated for Best Leading actor for his role as ranch owner Phil Burbank in The Power Of The Dog.
He is the current odds-on favourite to win the award, with odds of 4/9, just slightly ahead of Hollywood star Will Smith with odds of 6/4, following his nomination as Venus and Serena Williams’ father in King Richard.

However, The Power Of The Dog faces tough competition from a number of critically acclaimed films in the Best Film category, including Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast, with odds of 13/8.
Belfast is also nominated for awards including Best Original Screenplay and Outstanding British Film, along with a Supporting Actress nod for Caitriona Balfe and a nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category for Ciaran Hinds.

Other films to be nominated in the Best Film category also including Licorice Pizza, with odds of 16/1, Don’t Look Up with odds of 25/1 and sci-fi blockbuster Dune, with odds of 6/1.
Dune also currently leads the way with a total of 11 nominations at the EE BAFTA Awards 2022, while The Power Of The Dog received eight nominations.
With the awards ceremony only two weeks away, the winners are still too close to call – but anticipation is definitely high as audiences around the world wait to see who the winners will be on the night.
