Her Majesty the Queen passed away today at the age of 96.
As a nation mourns the longest-serving monarch in British history, there is so much of her legendary life to reflect on.
As well as always being a dignified and formidable leader for the British public, reigning through x wars and becoming a monarch when she was only 27, the Queen had a playful side, too.

Throughout her reign, Elizabeth II has enjoyed a number of onscreen cameos, showing off her mischievous streak and fairly decent acting skills, too!
James Bond cameo
The Queen’s cameo showing her “jumping” out of a helicopter during the London 2012 Opening Ceremony is the stuff of legends.
The fun video also shows Daniel Craig formally meeting the royal and her corgis at Buckingham Palace before the iconic parachute leap from the chopper into the stadium.
Apparently, the Queen did not tell her family she would be doing it as she thought it would be a marvellous surprise for her grandchildren.
She also was said to have “run down the corridor” from her private room to the stadium to watch the spectacle live.
Olympics opening ceremony executive producer Stephen Daldry said: “I think the Queen was amused at the idea, we were quite surprised that she agreed to do the jump.
“But I think they have a tradition of practical jokes and I think for her it was a really good practical joke about the grandchildren not knowing that she was going to do it, and she thought it was going to be very funny for them.”
Cheeky dig at the Obama’s
In another memorable onscreen cameo, who can remember that amusing clip she made with Prince Harry about the Invictus Games.
In the 2016 “fighting talk” video, the Queen and Harry are in one of her sitting rooms when a video message comes through on the prince’s phone from Barack and Michelle Obama. The American pair promise to “bring it” at the Invictus Games, before HM simply replies sardonically “oh really?”.
Harry, 37, then does a cheeky mic drop. Later Harry spoke about getting his granny to agree even though she’s “his boss” but she “was more than happy to oblige” and he hopes “everyone enjoyed it”.
We certainly did.
Heart-tugging scenes with Paddington Bear
Not a dry eye in the house for this one. As part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations – to commemorate 70 years of service – HM joined up with another British institution, Paddington Bear.
The bear, voiced by Ben Wishaw, joins the royal at Buckingham Palace to wish her a “lovely Jubilee”. She offers him tea, which he slurps from the teapot, before pouring her the tiniest drop.
More chaos ensues before she reveals she also always keeps Paddington’s favourite snack, a marmalade sandwich, in her purse. The video finishes with Paddington taking off his hat and saying “thank you…for everything.”
A truly magical moment.
