Tom Parker has been given revolutionary treatment amid incurable cancer battle.
The Wanted singer has spent the past week in a private hospital in the hope to become fit enough for his band’s reunion tour.
The 33-year-old jetted off to Spain for treatment as he had previously said how shocked he was by the lack of help and funding for cancer patients in the UK.
A chemotherapy drug called Temozolomide has for 20 years been the standard NHS treatment for glioblastoma patients.
The treatments the singer is now receiving at a private facility include time in an oxygen machine, massages and a special diet.
Tom hopes to be well enough to perform for fans on the bands tour which starts this Thursday.
A source said: “Tom has been vocal that he doesn’t think the options available in Britain are perfect so he’s trying elsewhere.
“The tour means so much to him, he cannot wait.
“The cancer treatment he goes through takes it out of him so it’s been good to go abroad and relax.”
The dad-of-two’s treatment which is reportedly in Costa del Sol, costs around £8,000 for two weeks or £11,600 for a three-week program.
In October 2020, Tom revealed he had an inoperable stage 4 glioblastoma, which doctors described as “the worst case scenario”.
At the time, he was told by specialists he had only 12 to 18 months to live.
However, after six rounds of chemo and 30 radiotherapy sessions the singers outlook became more positive as he updated fans.
Fans have shared comments on a recent Instagram post to tell the Glad You Came star how excited they are to see him perform.
One wrote: “Buzzing,” while another added: “Can’t wait.”
A third penned: “Can’t WAIT to see you boys again.”
“So hyped to see you all live,” said another.
