This Morning fans slammed presenter Alice Beer as “disrespectful” after she handed out doughnuts to mourners waiting in the queue to see the Queen’s coffin.
The 57-year-old TV host spoke to people who had queued for several hours to see the Queen lying in state at Westminster Hall in London on Wednesday (September 14).
As she approached those patiently waiting on Albert Embankment, she had a microphone and a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts in hand.

“We can pay our respects and eat doughnuts at the same time… I’ve become the most popular person in the queue,” the Watchdog star said.
Seeing a young man and his mother in the queue, she continued: “You would think it would be just staunch royalists here but no we’ve got some teenagers.”
But it seems her light-hearted interview approach didn’t sit well with those watching at home as they took to social media to slam the presenter for being “disrespectful.”
One user fumed: “That woman interviewing people in the queue to see the queens coffin needs sacking!!! How disrespectful!! Its not a festival queue!!!”
“Jesus wept, you are treating this queue like it’s the opening for the new ride at Alton Towers. Not a good look, have some respect #ThisMorning,” echoed a second.
Another user raged: “Another wrote: ‘Can’t believe reporters are at the Buckingham Palace queues laughing, smiling and shouting about donughts as if it were a carnival. Show some respect! #ThisMorning’.
While a fourth added: “Jesus wept you are treating this queue like it’s the opening for the new ride at Alton Towers . Not a good look, have some respect.”
The following day (September 15), Alice was relocated to Westminster Hall while former ITV newsreader Isla Traquair spoke to mourners in the queue.
Holly Willoughby introduced the pair as she said: “In just a moment we’ll speak to Isla Traquair who is keeping people’s spirits up in the queue.
“First let’s hear from Alice who is at the exit at Westminster Hall. Alice, you were actually able to go inside and view the coffin earlier this morning. What was that moment like for you?”
Alice responded: “Incredible. Just before dawn I was allowed into an appointed slot in Westminster Hall.
“Let’s just be very clear, I didn’t take anyone’s place in the queue. I wasn’t queue jumping. This was a a slot for a reporter or member of the press so that I could tell you about it. Witness it and share it with you. And that was a complete honour,” she added.
