The Tinder Swindler conman – whose devious scams have become the focus of a new tell-all Netflix documentary – has deleted his Instagram account where he flaunted his wealth online.
The 31-year-old disabled the social media account just two days after the explosive documentary dropped on the streaming service while it found itself in the top ten most popular content listed on the site.
Across 2018 and 2019, Shimon Hayut tricked many single women – who he met through the popular dating app Tinder – out of hundreds of thousands of dollars while he pretended to be a billionaire under the false name Simon Leviev.
However, since Netflix released their new documentary exposing his ploys to the world – which has gone on to spark huge media coverage internationally – the Israeli criminal has become shy on social media.
In light of the renewed scrutiny, the convicted conman has decided to delete his social media account which he regularly updated with snaps of his lavish lifestyle including shots of him posing on a private jet to clips of him behind the wheel of a luxury car.
Shimon was eventually arrested and charged with fraud, theft, and forgery which placed him behind bars for five months before he was released on ‘good behaviour’ in May 2020.
And it didn’t take long before the criminal was boasting about his luxury life on Instagram again where he continued to flaunt his glamorous lifestyle up until the account was removed from Friday afternoon.
Less than one month after he was released from prison, he shared a picture of himself while he smoked a cigar on a boat surrounded by alcohol which he captioned: “Let the summer begin.”
And he didn’t stop there, as he went on to post numerous videos of himself flying high on a private plane.
Just one week before that, Shimon shared a clip of himself driving in a bright red convertible as he gave a thumbs up to the camera.
Other posts over the last year showed him partying the night away on a yacht and eating at expensive restaurants in addition to staying in five-star hotels.
After the documentary dropped on Friday afternoon, the star addressed the claims on his social media as he penned: “Thank you for all your support” on his Instagram Story.
