Tipping Point fans saw the funny side when one contestant made a glaring blunder when answering a very simple question.
Viewers of Tuesday’s (March 1st) instalment of the show saw the funny side as jackpot hopeful Denise, a professional TV extra, made the slip up while answering a volley of questions from host Ben Shephard.
The funny moment came as Ben posed a question about a landmark in the UK capital city London.
In the pressure of the moment Denise failed to correctly register exactly what it was she was being quizzed about and gave an ill thought out reply.
Ben asked: “The Tower of London is a famous landmark in which country of the UK?”
Denise then responded: “London.”
She appeared to realise her mistake as quickly as the words had left her mouth, with a disappointed Ben correcting her looking equally despairing.
Fans of the hit ITV quiz show then took to Twitter to discuss the slip up as they laughed about her obvious mistake.
One wrote: “Denise struggling with the difference between country and city.”
Another added: “Ah yes, London – that country of the UK!”
A third continued: “London is a country? Well well well. The Americans were right.”
Meanwhile a fourth quipped: “Has London went off and became a country of its own?”
And another keen social media user tweeted: “If Southend can be a city I guess London can be a country.”
Sadly for Denise, her lack of correct answers saw her crashing out of the competition just short of the final round, giving way to fellow contestant Joshua.
Joshua then went on to win the £10,000 jackpot after two lucky answers and a clever strategy got him all the way to the final of the show.
Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV and ITV Hub
