Travis Barker opens up on hospital stint after 'severe life-threatening' condition

Travis Barker has spoken out for the first time since he was rushed to hospital with serious health concerns last week.

The Blink-182 drummer – who is married to reality star Kourtney Kardashian – took to Instagram to reassure his loyal legion of fans that he is finally on the mend.

His illness first started on Monday (June 28) after he took a routine trip to hospital for an endoscopy, after which he explained he was “feeling great.”

But things started to take a turn for the worse after he ate his evening meal, where he later developed “excruciating pain” in his abdomen.

Taking to his Instagram Story, the dad-of-two shared his health battle to his concerned loyal legion of online.

He wrote: “But after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalised ever since.

“During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube.

“This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis,” he added.

The musician went on to thank all of the health workers and medical experts who have been looking after him for the past week, writing: “I am so very, very grateful that with intensive treatment, I am currently much better.”

Last Tuesday, Travis was spotted being carried into Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in the heart of Los Angeles on a stretcher with his loving wife dressed in a black tracksuit walking by his side.

Just two days later, his 16-year-old daughter Alabama Barker shared a sweet snap of her holding her father’s hand on Instagram as she thanked her adoring fans for all their support online.

She penned: “Thank you guys for all of the prayers and love, I appreciate you and love all of you.”

The teen also asked fans to “please send your prayers” on her Instagram story as Travis later echoed her post, adding: “God save me.”

Fans immediately flocked to the comments to send their well wishes to the star online as they anxiously waited for the family to release more news on his recovery.

One user asked: “What happened? He went by ambulance to one hospital & they sent him to another. I hope he will be okay.”
